Vacancies at Amsterdam Publishers
We publish non-fiction and fiction books on the Holocaust and we are looking for dynamic, motivated individuals to join our team of international interns. We also do book promotion. We take pride in doing this well, but need an extra hand for our ever-expanding portfolio of Holocaust literature. The social media feeds are always hungry for content. Book promotion is very time-consuming and we need people who can manage our social media channels, or create content.
We have unpaid vacancies for:
- a social media assistant
- a copy editor / proofreader
- creator of blurbs and LinkedIn articles
- translators English-German, English-French, English-Hungarian, English-Polish, English-Norwegian, English-Swedish, English-Spanish, English-Slovak, English-Czech, English-Dutch, English-Greek, English-Chinese, English-Korean.
- vacancy for a native Dutch editor, a native German editor and a native French editor.
These tasks can also be combined. The copy editor’s main task would be to write blurbs for the socials. A proofreader is the last person to read the book and his / her task is to spot the last small errors and typos in a text. Fluency in English is a prerequisite.
Applicants always get a test manuscript to assess their editing skills.
Please note an internship is an unpaid position
Are you interested in collaborating with a team of international professionals? Feel free to contact Liesbeth Heenk for details. Applicants should send their CV and indicate for how many months they want to work. A minimum of 4 months is required, and the social media internship requires a minimum of 2 hours work per day. A CV always needs to be accompanied by a letter of motivation.
